I was born in Derbyshire and educated at Hull University and The Laban. I taught contemporary dance in schools and colleges in the north of England, was a project administrator and now work as a freelance proofreader and copy-editor.
My writing is dark, edgy and evocative, exploring the unravelling of unbalanced minds. My novels are based on historical characters, individuals who can be found in the footnotes of history, and set against the backdrop of events in their lives.
My first novel, The Widow’s Tale, is an exploration of a damaged soul set in fourteenth-century Yorkshire. It portrays a woman’s descent into madness as she confronts blocked memories of her sister’s mysterious death and her brutal role in her husband’s demise. It is presently available on Amazon, Smashwords, iBooks, Barnes and Noble, Kobo, Scribd and Inktera.
I am working on my second novel, Death of a Maiden, which is a tale of betrayal, madness and revenge that leads to murder set in eleventh-century Northumbria.
